The Warehouse Supervisor is directly involved with all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the site warehouse.The Supervisor must analyze opportunities for improvement, implement strategic and operational plans and lead interdepartmental communications to improve operational efficiencies.
The hours of work would be 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm Monday to Friday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily coordination and execution of the logistics, warehouse, and inventory aspects of the site operations to support growth of business
- Execute and support metrics to achieve the company's overall objectives, consistent with corporate practices
- Review Quality procedures/processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Participate in corporate regulatory and safety initiatives to ensure compliance and a safe environment
- Identify short
- Identify and execute training and development needs for direct reports
- Provide regular performance feedback and conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports
- Make recommendations for and clearly communicate details for incentive programs
- Identify and support promotion opportunities for direct reports
- Identify investments required in tools and/or people to achieve departmental objectives
- Serve as the point person for all Warehouse Operations internally and externally
- Actively participate in special assignments (i.e., reports for Management, continuous improvement, compliance tasks, etc.) as needed
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- University or College degree in Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in distribution, warehousing or operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Minimum of 2 years shipping and handling of hazardous materials preferred
- Experience in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) required
- Demonstrated organizational, complex problemsolving, and analytical skills
- Ability to identify and resolve issues or conflict with a continuous improvement mindset
- Must be selfmotivated, high energy, and engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, and ability to adapt communication style to the audience as needed
- Software knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
- Act legally and ethically in all professional relationships in adherence with Barentz' culture, values and fundamentals
- Fluent in English, a second language would be considered an asset
