Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA):
- Job Duties
Job Duties - Under the general direction of the Manager, Ancillary Services, the position is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, organizing and supervising activities of the Regina Bookstore in providing textbooks, manuals and supplies to the students and programs in an efficient, cost effective and timely manner. This is the senior bookstore position located at the campus.
- 1. Plan, organize and supervise all phases of the bookstore including purchasing, sales, training programs buyback sessions, inventory control, new products research and maintaining accounting methods and procedures.
- Confer with instructors, program heads and deans to develop textbook and supply order requirements; initiate orders for merchandise; determine sources and orders.
- Oversee the supervision of personnel, which includes staffing, work allocation including establishing work routines, assigning responsibilities, delegating and distributing workload, undertaking initial and on going training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendation for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Develop annual operating budget and provide fiscal direction to the unit.
- Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short and long-range planning; develop and implement projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals and to ensure efficient and safe operation of the unit.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
- 1. Diploma in marketing, business administration or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Knowledge of the textbook publishing industry;
- Knowledge of purchasing processes, contracts, return policies, shipping and transportation regulations;
- Knowledge of acquisition/procurement of textbooks, manuals, supplies, uniforms and other goods; and
- Knowledge of retail operations and practices.
- Advanced level database experience
- Demonstrated experience managing a group of employees
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating and fiscal management principles and procedures
- Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment
- Good analytical, organizational and time management skills
- Effective interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
- Ability to develop and implement new strategies and procedures
- Demonstrates valuing diversity
