    Description

    Your Opportunity:

    • The Vascular Access (VA) nurse will provide a variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being.
    • This temporary position is at West Edmonton Kidney Care Hemodialysis but will also cover multiple sites with some visits to rural units.
    • Key responsibilities include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
    • The VA nurse coordinates access creation, surveillance monitoring, and provides staff/patient education.
    • The position supports clinical competencies and organizational standards in collaboration with the leadership team.
    • Collaboration with the healthcare team at various levels is necessary.
    • This position involves primarily daytime and evening shifts, from 1200h to 2015h.

    Description:

    As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver a variety of nursing services, ensuring patient safety and well-being.

    You will engage in nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, while advocating for patients and families.

    You will play a leadership role in patient care and health promotion, providing quality, family-centered care in line with AHS values.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
    • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
    • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
    • If not actively practicing, completion of CRNA Medication Management and NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification.

    Additional Required Qualifications:

    • Involvement in developing/delivering educational programs is preferred.
    • Teaching/facilitation skills with knowledge of adult learning principles.
    • Connect Care experience is an asset.
    • Prior experience as a vascular access nurse is beneficial.
    • C Neph certification is a plus.
