The House of Commons Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the Analyst, Monitoring position.


Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of technology services within the heart of democratic governance? We are seeking a highly skilled Analyst, Monitoring to join our team responsible for round-the-clock monitoring of the IT infrastructure, facilities, and devices critical to the functioning of the House of Commons.

Operating on a 24/7 rotational basis, you will be at the forefront of identifying and resolving issues to uphold the performance and availability of IT services for our esteemed clients.

Your role will involve active monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management across various technology domains, ensuring prompt resolution and clear communication with stakeholders.

With opportunities for professional growth and mentorship within our dynamic team, this position presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the core operations of one of the most esteemed institutions in the nation.

This position requires the individual to work on site overnight during the hours of 10:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. on an ongoing pattern of four (4) working days and four (4) days of rest. This position also will be required to work extended or irregular hours or overtime on short notice. Due to the nature of the work, this position has a pay premium.

Qualifications Education**:


  • Successful completion of postsecondary education from a recognized institution in an Information Technology related field OR acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience
    .

Experience:


  • Experience monitoring and/or supporting datacentres in a largescale IT environment;
  • Experience monitoring and/or supporting networking (voice and/or data) environments;
  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of monitoring and/or supporting environments involving the following vendor solutions or realm of technologies: Kaseya Traverse, Microsoft SCOM (System Center
  • Operations Manager), Cisco, F5, VMWare, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft IIS, Simpana, McAfee, HP ProLiant, NetApp, Citrix, UAG, Avaya, MS Teams, PowerBI;
  • Experience working with UNIX and/or Linux operating systems.

Assets:


  • Knowledge of ITSM ServiceNow
  • Knowledge of PowerShell
