SUMMARY


Blue Zone Buildings is a program unique to BGIS that operationalizes healthy building solutions within our client's buildings and provides other offerings for employees and client employees.

Blue Zone Buildings aspires to be an inspiring movement in the real estate industry to create healthier buildings and encourage employees to make healthier decisions.


The
Director, Blue Zone Buildings Program plays a pivotal role in the development, launch, and leadership of BGIS's new global program focused on Blue Zone Buildings.

This role requires strong interaction with the CEO, senior executives, and an ability to articulate and drive the commercial model towards establishing a profitable business unit.

The Director will demonstrate exceptional skills in marketing communication, managing multiple facets of the program including employee support, establishment of an employee marketplace, vendor incentive programs, and thought leadership.

This is a highly matrixed role in collaboration with several other product and service leaders at BGIS.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Vision and Strategy

  • To spearhead the transformation of BGIS's approach to healthy buildings and workplaces, turning the Blue Zone Buildings initiative into a leading, profitable business unit that sets the standard for sustainability, healthy and innovation in facilities management.

Program Development and Launch

  • Lead the development and launch of a new global program, ensuring alignment with BGIS's strategic objectives (brand and financial growth)
  • This includes but not limited to:
  • Defining and operationalizing new Blue Zone Buildings Products and Services either directly or in collaboration with existing business units.
  • Mature the checklist methodology, assessments and alignment in capital planning in collaboration with departments like Professional Services, Procurement, Sustainable Cleaning Solutions etc.
  • Collaborate with business units to operationalize Blue Zone Buildings within various departments at BGIS.
  • Develop vendor incentive programs and an employee marketplace to enhance engagement and program success.
  • Expand and capitalize on products and services.
  • Support the development of a Marketplace to enable individuals to purchase Blue Zone approved products.
  • Align with Indigenous program offerings / leverage and synergize.
  • Collaborate with Marketing for brand awareness.

Communication

  • Establish strong lines of communication and direction with the CEO and senior executives.
  • Lead a Steering Committee of executives and product and service delivery leads to drive positive outcomes and results.
  • Champion white papers and medical opinions on the benefits of the Blue Zone Building approach.

Develop and Manage the Business of Blue Zone Buildings

  • Define and communicate new services and opportunities within the Blue Zone Buildings initiative.
  • Work in collaboration with other business units to develop new products.
  • Track financial contribution to the business, directly within the BZB business unit or within other product lines.
  • Manage the vision of Blue Zone Buildings into a profitable business.

Marketing Activities and Content

  • Support marketing communications activities, including speaking events, and produce executivecaliber marketing materials and content.
  • Research and provide support content for product and service advocacy.

Leadership

  • Foster an entrepreneurial and detailoriented culture within the team, managing high volumes of communication with diverse parties.
  • Will manage one direct report (intern) and work efficiently with a high volume of diverse parties.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Demonstrates a capacity to respond swiftly and effectively to business needs.
  • Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and overly communicating progress.
  • Able to handle working at a senior level, including direct interaction with the CEO and senior executives.
  • Understanding of Facilities Management, building condition assessments, capital planning, sustainability and other professional services.
  • Ability to collaborate with other business units in a matrixed manner.
  • Experience in managing a P&L and running a business unit like a business, with emphasis on startup of a vision.
  • Exhibits an entrepreneurial spirit and approach.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problemsolving.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and innovation within a global business environment.
  • Strong background in marketing communications, with the ability to produce professional executive caliber materials.
  • Familiarity with facilities management and the ability to advocate for products and services effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership in thought leadership and the ability to drive a commercial model to success.
