Course Number and Title:

BTC2000Y: Effective Management Skills**
Course Description: This course introduces students to the fundamental and foundational skills and concepts needed to become effective members of an organization.

It focuses on teamwork skills, understanding interpersonal differences and motivation, decision-making and conflict, and written and oral communication.

It provides the initial opportunity for a team-based problem-solving approach and a realistic preview of the workplace. The course is experiential, and much of the learning occurs through doing in class and out of class. It requires active participation by the students and skilled facilitation by the instructor.

Estimated TA support: 1hr/student

All courses at UofT Mississauga are expected to be delivered in person in Summer 2024)


Sessional Dates of Appointment:
May 1st - December 31st, 2024**
Salary:$17, includes 4% vacation pay)

Same as minimum qualifications.


Description of Duties:

All normal duties related to the design, teaching and delivery of a University credit course, including, but not limited to, Meeting with each student team to guide/advise them on their presentations.

Holding office hours as required.

Marking/evaluating student presentations and written examinations; recording student attendance; recording and submitting grades; and communicating with students on course-related matters for the Summer and Fall terms.
