    Position Summary

    Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Dawson Creek & District Hospital.

    Under the general direction of the OR/PACU Unit Manager, the OR/P.A.R.

    nurse provides direct nursing care to the peri-operative patient according to established standards/policies and provides work direction to nursing and non-nursing staff as required.

    The OR/P.A.R.

    nurse assesses the physical and psychological needs; plans, implements, evaluating and documents the nursing care for the patient during the peri-operative process, and the immediate post-operative period.

    Call is required.

    Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 07:15 to 15:15 Dawson Creek & District Hospital Dawson Creek and District Hospital is a full service community hospital that provides service to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 Acute Care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. Dawson Creek is the Orthopaedic Trauma and Surgical centre for the Northeast Region of BC.

    Visiting specialists including:

    • Urology
    • Dermatology
    • Pediatrics
    • Obstetrics and Gynecology Dawson Creek Wide blue skies and the rolling foothills of the Northern Rockies surround Dawson Creek. The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Dawson Creek has a population of approximately 12,500. It provides primary service to a population of approximately 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region of 60,000. There are eleven elementary schools, one middle school and one secondary school. The Northern Lights College provides adult education.     • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
    • Current Level C CPR certification required.
    • Post graduate certificate in perioperative nursing or a minimum of one-year recent related experience in peri-operative nursing
