Makloc is currently seeking a Labourer/Forklift Operator based out of our Nisku Fabrication Plant.Labourer Duties Include, but
not are limited to:
- Installing grating and fastening it to skids and stairs
- General cleaning of office, shop and yard, parking lots and ditches
- Mowing grass and removing weeds in ditches as needed as well as watering trees and miscellaneous seasonal landscaping tasks
- Shoveling snow from sidewalks, and at doorways around the plant and office as needed
Forklift Duties Include, but
are not limited to:
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift or other power equipment
- Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
- Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager
Working Conditions
Labourers/Forklift Operators work from both verbal instructions and printed deficiency lists. A 40-hour week is normal, but overtime may be required to meet deadlines. Labourers/Forklift Operatos will be working in a manufacturing shop setting, as well as outside. Considerable bending, reaching, and lifting may be required. Safely working from ladders and/or lifts may also be required.

The work is most rewarding for people who enjoy developing special skills and putting them to use in a variety of ways.
To be successful, the Labourer/Forklift Operator will need:
- To be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Possess a current forklift operator certification
- To be able to work in a safe and efficient manner
- To be in good physical condition
- A Mechanical Aptitude
- Strength, stamina and the use of proper lifting techniques required to handle heavy tools and parts weighing up to 25 kilograms;
- Eyehand coordination, spatial and form perception, good eyesight and manual dexterity
- The ability to visualize a finished product from a drawing
- The ability to stand for long periods, do some moderately heavy lifting and carrying in a noisy place
- Patience, dependability and accuracy
- The ability to work in a shop environment or outside in the yard
- Comfortable working with a variety of hand and power tools such as paint brushes, saws, grinders, drills etc as needed
- Ability to take direction, and then report back to a supervisor upon completion of job.

Salary:
$19.00-$22.00 per hour
