THE POSITION
The Business Manager reports to the Principal and oversees the general office operation.

The Business Manager will assist the school leadership team to align practices and resources with the school vision and will assist with the management and the organization and administration of the school on a day-to-day basis including directly supervising support staff employees.

This position requires promotion of positive public relations to ensure a welcoming, inclusive, equitable and product work environment for the school and the district.

This position is pivotal in facilitating the school's educational purposes and the efficient daily operations of the school office.


THE APPLICANT

Preference will be given to applicants who possess:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage the operations of the school office and promote a professional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, and perform varied and complex financial and clerical work.
  • Extensive training and experience in management, accounting and purchasing including demonstrated budgeting, analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop protocols around the usage, maintenance and fiscal management of school programs and resources (culinary arts, theatre, student travel, athletics)
  • Knowledge of accounting processes used in schools, including setting budgets and managing expenses.
  • Training and experience in leadership and supervision of staff in a unionized environment.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills in working with staff and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive documents and information.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of the accounting processes used in schools and experience in school operations is an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
