Description

Key Duties

  • Perform aerodynamic performance testing on fans and blowers using industry approved AMCA standards and methods
  • Provide accurate and reliable test data
  • Generate test reports, fan and system curves
  • Calculate power and efficiency ratings
  • Maintain lab test equipment and calibrations
  • Maintain accurate and organized test reports filing system
  • Perform various electric motor testing as required
  • Generate performance charts for use with sales and marketing
  • Support technical sales and customer support requests as required
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Product Development Manager

Minimum requirements

  • College diploma or University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Controls and Instrumentation or HVAC studies preferred (or adequate experience)
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS office (Excel, Outlook etc)
  • Strong mechanical ability (able to assemble fans, knowledge of bearings, motors, couplings)
  • Strong electrical background (low and high voltage, able to wire motors, single and 3 phase); VFD experience an asset
  • Strong problem solving, and oral and written communication skills
  • Highly safety oriented
  • Organized and meticulous in your work and when following test standards
  • Able to multitask, work independently, manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Has a continuous learning mentality and desire to improve
  • Previous fan performance testing and HVAC background an asset
  • Able to travel occasionally if required
