Position Overview:


The Process Support Operator will provide coverage to the site Process team for absences primarily within the Loader Operator and Process EIT positions.

When not covering an absence, the Process Support Operator will be assigned a home shift, or may be assigned to assist with a project or provide additional support to one of the positions within the team.

Main Accountabilities:


When acting in the Loader Operator role:

  • Loading haulage vehicles, tunnels, storage bunkers, and processing equipment with loose waste.
  • Skilled in the use of all mobile equipment to operationally maintain process equipment and facilities
  • Performing cleaning and preuse safety checks on items of plant and recording/reporting defects in accordance with safe working procedures.

When acting in the Process EIT role:

  • Identify and report non-conforming waste, waste haulers or procedures to Process Leader.
  • Run daytoday operation of process through SCADA (performing tunnel flushes, adjusting air system, moving tunnels to different phases)
  • Resolve common alarms and troubleshoot basic issues
  • Work with Process leader to assist with scheduling the production process schedules (i.e., adjusting task schedules, adjusting tunnel mix based on condition of material).
  • Conduct continuous inspections of all key processes including AD, compost, gas plant to identify abnormalities making necessary adjustments when required.
  • Planning of consumable, and in
- and outbound trucks (i.e., compost trucks, mids, ammonium sulphate, etc.).

  • Assist Process Leader in coordinating work with Maintenance team that impacts processes or safety.
  • Coordinate and lead daily and weekly safety meetings, shift handovers inspections.

What are we looking for on your CV?

  • Working toward or completion of a postsecondary degree or diploma in sciences or related field (i.e., biology, chemistry, environmental, etc.) is preferred but not required
  • Minimum of a high school diploma
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in operating heavy equipment in a composting plant required
  • Knowledge of composting processes with experience in biological processing of organic waste streams preferred
  • Knowledge of SCADA preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills required

Certifications:


  • Heavy Equipement Operator certificate required
  • Valid Drivers License Required

Salary:
From $32.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Surrey, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

Machine Operator: 1 year (preferred)

  • Leadership: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Heavy Equipment Operator Certificate (preferred)
  • Drivers License (required)
