Your job

  • Understand business issues, identify the needs of internal partners and propose strategies, taking into account the diversity of files, in order to support the implementation of activities
  • Draft, analyze and interpret various banking documents, including model credit agreements, security documents and other banking forms
  • Issue and draft legal opinions in matters relating to commercial law, corporate finance and security interests
  • Actively participate in the development of new products, special projects and the evolution of the Bank's commercial and corporate finance policies, standards, practices and processes
  • Analyze business transfer files and guide employees in drafting the financing offer and security or assume responsibility for them in complex files
  • Negotiate with the various parties involved in financing transactions, including business transfer transactions
  • Analyze draft laws and new regulations in order to inform business lines of upcoming regulatory changes and support them in the implementation of these new requirements
  • Identify the risks associated with the Bank's products and activities (legal and reputational) and propose solutions to mitigate these risks
  • Advise employees in the Corporate Finance Operations sector on complex files
  • Interact with internal partners, as well as with associations, organizations and external stakeholders
**Your team

Reporting to the Senior Director, Legal Affairs, Corporate Commercial and International, you will be responsible for providing legal support for trade finance transactions, in addition to providing legal advice to various partners in other areas of the Bank We aim to offer you maximum flexibility in your work to promote your quality of life.

Basic requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws and four years of relevant experience
  • Member of the Barreau du Québec or the Chambre des notaires du Québec with significant experience
  • Relevant experience in business financing
  • Analytical, interpersonal and writing skills
  • Ability to handle a large volume of cases with varying deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good knowledge of the business environment and sound judgment
