PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR-INJECTION MOULDING

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead a team of machinists
Delegate daily individual tasks to each team member and followup until completed
Responsible for the ontime completion of parts within specs
Estimate the time to complete tasks by team members and advise on production scheduling
Identify obsolete parts and advise the Production Planner and Purchasing to correct the database
Perform training and set an example to new employees
Participate in weekly work review meetings with the Instrument Manufacturing Manager
Report all team and production issues to the Manager (work performance, quality etc.)
Operate Injection Moulding machines as required
Complete Job Material Pick List Reports and other production documents as required
Propose improvements in product reliability, manufacturing efficiency and quality
Other tasks as required

Essential Skills and Knowledge

5 years or more of work experience is required
Demonstrated team leading / team management skills
Familiar with plastic injection moulding machinery
Familiar with production process and associated documentation
Understanding of best practices and product quality objectives
Ability to find solutions to functional problems
Manual dexterity is very important
Fluency with both Imperial and Metric measurements systems
Attention to detail, good organizational skills
Able to work independently, as well as in a team environment
Very good knowledge of English and French is required
