About the Role

This position is responsible for the continuous outside operations in the process area of the facility, including the gas preparation, condensate stabilization, and liquefaction units.

These duties include performing site checks, adjusting equipment in consult with the control room, preparing equipment for maintenance, and assisting maintenance and other support groups for optimal efficiency and availability of the plant.

Within each of the two LNGC Process Trains there are two different field areas: the warm end and the cold end.

The warm end consists of the gas preparation units that remove carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, water, and mercury from the gas.

The gas is then precooled followed by condensate removal; this condensate is then stabilized and routed to storage. Some of the equipment in this area includes columns, packed vessels, high pressure pumps, and heat exchangers.

The cold end of the process train is LNG Canada's main cryogenic process section.

In this area, the treated natural gas from the warm end is liquified by a refrigeration process that contains large scale equipment such as aero derivative gas turbine driven multistage centrifugal compressors, along with other heat exchangers, vessels, and auxiliary equipment.

Field Technicians will initially be assigned to the process areas (Warm End and Cold End); however, over the course of their career the technicians will cross train in the other work areas (Utilities and Storage & Loading) and additionally could progress into the panel positions.
