CNC Machinist | Setup & Afternoon

Leading manufacturer of high-precision components to BC and internationally. Family-owned and run business that takes great pride in each of its employees.

No two days will be the same given the company's focus on low volume high complexity work from a variety of industries including deep sea submergence, aerospace, alternative energy, medical, and manufacturing OEMs.

The 20,000-square-foot facility in the Tri-City area, BC and is equipped with 20 CNC machines including a mix of vertical mills, lathes, and 7-axis live tooling machines.

The company is ISO 9001 certified and operates well-maintained Mazak and Haas equipment. Near 40-year history with a deep bench of tenured machinists to learn from.

The Opportunity:


  • Set up and operate CNC turning to mill and multiaxis centers.
  • Past experience working with tight tolerances (microns to 5 thou).
  • Ability to check machined parts and read technical drawings.
  • Ability to fill in detailed paperwork and record dimensions accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and machine.
  • Machine knowledge and basic maintenance capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to support other machinists.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Parts deburring and polishing.

Hours

  • Preference for Afternoon Shift (3:45 pm 1:45 am | Mon-Thu).
  • 1 Hour lunches are paid for the afternoon shift.
  • Potential opportunities exist for Day Shift (7:30 am4:00 pm | Mon-Fri)
  • Friday and weekend overtime is available depending on the shop's workload
