Summary:
This role is the end of our manufacturing process, and is the final packaging step before storage ready for shipment to our customers.
*The boxing team will provide
backup support for the Veg Processing room and facilities support.
Responsibilities/ Duties:
- Careful and safe handling of packaging materials.
- Check lot codes, and dates on materials.
- Ensure the correct rotation of materials on a first in first out basis.
- Setup of work station with all documentation, items and utensils required.
- Follow the daily production schedule to meet production output, communicating effectively with the Shift Leader, SP Room Operator and Warehouse.
- Set up the case erector, fit tape magazine, and load boxes.
- Set up the Dominos label printer, according to the product being packed.
- Ability to change label settings using the Dominos printer, and change ribbons in the printer as required.
- Ability to operate the plc control panel, to operate conveyors and boxing machine, unloading the appropriate lane through to the boxing room.
- Follow pallet configurations to stack the pallets in the correct formation.
- Complete appropriate documentation to record key information related to traceability, quality control, safety and productivity.
- Coordinate with the SP room, Liquiflex operator, to effectively plan the next lane being pulled and packed.
- Assist in the SP room stirring lanes of product in the chill tanks to assist with the cooling process.
- Take temperatures and record them on QA documentation; this can be different for different products, so attention to detail is important.
- Competent use of the computer to make entries into NAV, and print the yellow label for the pallet identification.
- Validate batch numbers, and timings between the SP and boxing rooms, recording information to ensure CCP (Critical Control Points) have been achieved.
- Strap the pallets with the strapping tape provided, to improve stability.
- Move completed pallets from the boxing room to the warehouse, using a walkie truck.
- Operate the shrink wrapper to wrap each completed pallet, then pass to the warehouse for them to put away in the appropriate location: Frozen/Fresh/Ambient.
- Follow HACCP guidelines, GMP's, and company policies and procedures to meet our food safety & quality standards.
- Maintain the tools/equipment for the room, ensure nothing is missing.
- Careful changeover of products, sometimes resulting in a full clean of the area and room to meet our sanitation standards.
- Clean and sanitize the work area, including all equipment and utensils used
- Safe handling of chemicals required for the cleaning process.
- Follow our safety standards, using the correct PPE (personal protective equipment) as needed at all times.
- Give a full handover to the next shift/team, in order for them to effectively carry on with the schedule.
- During a night shift, there will be a 'deep' clean of the boxing room, as per a full clean and sanitation for changeovers.

- Attention to detail, looking for substandard materials and raising concerns.
- Comfortable to be trained on manual, and powered pallet trucks for moving skids at floor level.
- Able to walk, stand and bend while handling ingredients.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Qualification Requirement:
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Experience in food manufacturing preferred, but not essential.
- Works in a methodical manner.
- Attention to detail is crucial.
