About the role
We're looking for a Senior Underwriter, Surety, to join our growing team


What you'll do here:


  • Analyze financial position of current and new developer clients.
  • Provide recommendations to management on developer surety bond support to provide to existing and prospective developer clients.
  • Negotiate specific terms and conditions for issuing Developer Surety bonds to clients.
  • Monitor the development projects and exposures.
  • Develop new business through networking/marketing with brokers, clients, developers, consultants, lawyers, and other market participants.
  • Gain and expand upon industry knowledge to improve underwriting decisions.
  • Represent Intact at various developer associations and industryrelated functions.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance
  • 3 to 5 years of developer surety or commercial lending experience, and/or experience in a commercial insurance underwriting or brokerage capacity.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements
  • Demonstrated capability for outstanding customer service
  • Proven track record for quick, accurate problem resolution
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can handle multiple tasks in a highvolume, fastpaced environment
  • Can work independently and collaborate with coworkers in a team setting
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite of products
