Ground Effects is looking for a
Materials Specialist to assist the Materials department in
Windsor, Ontario. Ground Effects Ltd.

has dedicated itself to excellence since 1986 and has evolved into a multi-faceted supplier of quality interior/exterior accessory components for the automotive industry and more.

The Material Specialist will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Materials Management within all GFX plants.

Working with the Project Manager and Team in the development of plans of data migration tasks in compliance with GFX Missions and Goals for resolution outcomes.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • In depth understanding of Material Planning processes.
  • Understand concepts and formulate best practice for traceability, tagging and storage (FIFO).
  • Understand tasks and deliverables as a team member representing the Materials Specialist functional areas.
  • All fashions of Supply Chain Management
  • Work with Project Manager and Team to develop process plans and data migration tasks, and Execute Project work within timeframe as committed
  • Investigate, prototype, test and implement best practice for departments you are responsible for.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders ensuring Departmental Managers are involved in escalated decisions and buy in on all recommended processes.
  • Identify and present pertinent information that will impact the project to the project team/manager in a timely manner and recommend solutions.
  • Summarize project activities required to report on the progress of project activities on a weekly basis to the Project Manager.
  • Support milestone tracking across multiple project deliverables.
  • Collect and validate requirements for the business and make business process decisions within the area of expertise.
  • Input to risk, issue management and responsible for resolution or escalation, and capture and track change requests to resolution
  • Support and maintain monthly GFX KPI's
  • Monitor, taking lead, and work closely with Program Material Planners, Program Managers, and Operations on EOL (end of life) programs, minimizing eliminate Obsolescence through collaboration, and supporting submission documentation
  • GM (HIVE, MIC-GTM, Resilinc, Supply Power), USMCA
  • Stellantis (FTA navigation, Supplier Assurance, E-Supplier Connect), MMOGLE
  • Nissan (Origin compliance), Toyota (Toyota Supplier Home)
  • Ford (FRD Supplier)
  • CTPAT (One source global trade)
  • Sandler and Travis (Trade via)
  • Review, track, complete require Obsolescence and Compliance Application requirement submissions to outlined GFX
  • OEM timing.
  • Collaboration with Internal GFX departments, Suppliers, and OEM customers to secure supporting documentation for reporting is available for OEM system upload.
  • Monitor, taking lead, and work closely with Program Material Planners, Program Managers, and Operations on EOL (end of life) programs, minimizing eliminate Obsolescence through collaboration, and supporting submission documentation
  • Travel to all GFX facilities
  • Train, coach and mentor end users, and reinforce/audit new processes

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Postsecondary education or equivalent experience
  • Degree in relevant field is preferred
  • Materials, and Quality Designation is preferred
  • 5 years
  • Automotive Experience
  • Project Management experience is considered an asset
  • IATF and OEM customer preferred
  • Must be team oriented with excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Have excellent time management skills: Should be able to independently prioritize and multi task to meet deadlines
  • Computer skills (MS OFFICE)
  • Detail oriented, reliable and punctual
  • Driver's license
  • Adaptation to new software is preferred (Epicor E10, Share point)
