    Salary: 100,000-125,000

    Tritech Group is a leader in the water infrastructure industry in Western Canada. We have a requirement for a Superintendent to join our Langley team.

    Tritech designs and builds water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations and has the unique ability to complete the majority of project work in-house, with the resources and capacity to integrate multiple disciplines including civil, process, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation trades.

    The Superintendent leads our civil, mechanical and electrical crews and will be responsible for planning, supervising and executing all work onsite.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Complete weekly and daily site hazard assessments, prepare safety documentation and review with crew
    • Provide a safe work environment through leading by example and following safety policies and procedures
    • Complete weekly and daily cleanup of site and site facilities
    • Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications and identify potential issues
    • Schedule manpower and gather materials and equipment required to complete work
    • Develop installation work plans and complete survey and layout for excavations, piping and structure foundations
    • Complete excavation, backfilling and grading activities
    • Schedule and coordinate testing agencies, environmental monitors and engineer for regular inspections
    • Schedule, review, inspect and signoff on aggregate, concrete, and general deliveries
    • Manage and sequence building subtrades
    • Install underground piping and building plumbing systems (HDPE, PVC, Ductile Iron, Steel, Copper etc.), ranging from 1⁄2" - 60" diameter
    • Work in trenches with labourers to complete installation as required
    • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with contract documents and to the highest quality standards
    • Ensure all work is completed within estimated budgets
    • Operate with honesty, integrity and respect and maintain a client focus

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    • 2-4 years experience in heavy civil, water infrastructure or building construction
    • Experience supervising and leading multiple construction trades as a foreman, supervisor or project coordinator
    • Registered as a civil or mechanical technologist / EIT (engineer in training) and/or trades experience in surveying, pipelaying, plumbing or carpentry.
    • Knowledge and experience in surveying and layout
    • Possess working knowledge of the latest building codes, standards, methods and industry safety standards
    • Current, valid tickets/certifications for: WHMIS, First Aid level 1 or 2, Confined Space, and Construction Safety Training (CSTS 2020 preferred) is an asset
    • Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal
    • Highly organized and motivated to carry out a variety of duties (cleanup, demolition, civil and mechanical work, etc.)
    • Physically fit and able to lift large weights and climb in and out of trenches, manholes, etc.
    • Enjoy physically demanding work in industrial/construction environments
    • Enjoy working in a fast paced environment, willing to push self and others to meet schedules
    • Aptitude to problem solve and think "outside the box"
    • Ability to work independently and manage tradespeople, labourers and subcontractors
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Willing to travel within BC as required
    • Valid Driver's License and personal vehicle
