Children/Youth Ministry Coordinator
St.

Stephen's Anglican Church is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Christian leader who will inspire and mentor our young people, helping them grow in their relationship with, Jesus Christ while discovering their place in God's Church.

The Children/Youth Ministry Coordinator reports directly to the parish priest (Incumbent).


Your Role at St. Stephen's - an Overview of Our Expectations

  • Fosters a vibrant Christian learning atmosphere.
  • Organizes and coordinates Parish Children/Youth activities.
  • Recruits, trains, coordinates and encourages a robust volunteer team.
  • Ensures new volunteers obtain a Police Record Check Level 3 (Vulnerable Sector Check); coordinates with office to ensure updates are completed every three years.
  • Works with the Incumbent and Education Coordinator to select and manage curriculum and to plan special activities and services. Liaises with Music Director as needed.
  • Communicates and connects with parents/guardians about their children and special activities and services.
  • Participates in staff meetings and completes monthly reports.

  • Exceptional communication, organizational and collaborative skills are hallmarks of your success.
A Strong ability to connect with youth.

  • Prior teaching and leadership experience with children and youths.
  • Specific training/certification on child development and engagement practicespreferred.
  • You are comfortable with, and supportive of, Anglican theological and liturgical traditions.

Time Commitment
Part-time 10 hours per week and includes:3 hours/week at church on Sunday mornings leading children's worship/Sunday school,
2 hours/month planning meetings,
planning curriculum and special activities liaising with volunteers, completing administrative tasks, etc.
working occasional Saturday afternoons for special activities.
Generally, "In-Person" role at church, but some tasks can be performed remotely.
Contract ending June 30, 2025.

Employment may commence on August 1, 2024 and employees are required to work onsite.
