Looking to take the next step in your career?_**Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated
Contract Administrator to join the Infrastructure group in our Highways & Bridges team in the
Thunder Bay location,
on a contract basis for work as a Contract Administrator on MTO Highway Construction Projects
.


The Contract Administrator is part of the project procurement team focused on the management of construction and service contracts during the execution of MTO CA assignments and has a significant contribution in participating in the successful completion of projects.

The Contract Administrator is focused on the contracting activities post award and the responsibilities end only at close-out and handover of the project.


  • Supports the project procurement efforts, in the award of construction and service contracts.
  • Contractual change control relating to cost and time.
  • Program monitoring (scope, cost and time) and progress meetings.
  • Payment certification and cash flow forecast.
  • Claims administration.
  • Develop, process and implement contractual documents and change notices in a timely manner.
  • Administrate contracts in accordance with general requirements of contractual terms and conditions.
  • Maintain various contract registers and as per project specific instructions.
  • Drive the deliverables and inputs as required from the quantity surveyors (if applicable).
  • Management of securities/guarantees.
  • Closeout.

You bring to the role:

  • A current RCCA (Road Construction Contract Administrator) designation from OACETT or a Professional Engineer with a P Eng designation in Ontario.
  • Taken and passed the MTO T13
  • Advanced Issues Resolution training (post January 01, 2020), or taken and passed the MTO T131
  • Advanced Claims
  • Dispute Resolution training (prior to December 31, 2019 and attend the T131A refresher in 2020).
  • Experience of being a Contract Administrator on at least 1 MTO Contract Administration Contract.
  • Management skills.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Experience working on large construction sites.
  • Excellent understanding of procurement processes and corporate governance principles.
  • Ability to fit into a team environment and personal skills to compliment teamwork development.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification will be highly regarded.
  • Must have a valid Driver license.
