About Nithview Community:

Nithview Community is a seniors' community designed to provide several types of accommodation and services.

Residents are able to choose the type of accommodation that is most appropriate for their care needs and continue to live within the community of care as their needs change.

Emphasis is placed on assisting residents to live life to the fullest in this dynamic residential setting.


About the Position:


Under the direction of the Director of Resident Services, the Recreation Assistant plans and implements recreation programs, which enhance the lifestyle of residents at Nithview Community.


Wage:


$18.60 hourly

Qualifications:


  • Must have a community college recreation diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Executive Director.

Experience:


  • Experience in the recreational field, working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Experience in music therapy/programming an asset
  • Experience working with residents with dementia is an asset
  • Superior client relationship skills and passion for advocating for residents' rights and personcentred care
  • Strong interpersonal an organizational skill
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work effectively with team members
  • Experience in planning and implementation Program
  • Experience with MDS/RAI charting and Point Click Care is an asset
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
