If you were in the Polymer and Chemistry Expert - Advanced Concepts role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Researching new and novel innovations in têxtile finishes, adhesives, coloration, next-gen polymers, processing, molding, surface functionalization, green chemistry, and related areas of interest in order to select and initiate partnerships and developments
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners to continually improve material performance from a durability, comfort, quality, environmental, and social impact perspective via ingredients, additives, and/or treatments
  • Communicating, educating, and presenting information to a wide range of key partners
  • Managing, leading, and commercializing multiple short, mid, and longterm projects, while providing clear documentation of progress, updates, outcomes, and resourceutilization
  • Support in creating definitions and guidelines for brandwide use of certain raw material ingredients, chemistries, and auxiliaries
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA): troubleshooting and problemsolving when issues arise within the material toolbox

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Building in-house and external testing, prototyping, and analysis capabilities
  • Establishing a longterm chemicals, adhesives, and polymer ingredients strategy
  • Creating new methods to test and validate functional benefits in collaboration with Research & Engineering
  • Collaborating with Brand teams to communicate innovations to guests and representatives

Are you our next Polymer and Chemistry Expert - Advanced Concepts?:

  • You have a degree in chemistry, polymer science, polymer chemistry, têxtile engineering, environmental science / chemical management, materials science or similar field
  • You have 3+ years of consumergoods, têxtileindustry, or commercially sponsored Research and Development (R&D) experience
  • You have a strong foundation of knowledge around polymer science, chemistry, processing and manufacturing, adhesives, and/or têxtile dyeing, finishing
  • You have experience working with multiple levels of a typical polymer or industrial chemical supply chain
  • You have experience working with different sized entities and partners, including large industrial chemical companies, specialty compounders, processors, academia, startups, etc.
  • You have experience in technology scouting, TEA and due diligence
  • You have a high level of selfdrive, creativity, commercial acumen, and foundational technical knowledge
  • You are a problemsolver and inherently curious
  • You are able to explain complex concepts to both scientists and nonscientists
  • You are an effective and empathetic communicator
  • You are detailoriented and followthrough on commitments to do what is right, and you strive for continuous improvement
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
$91,000 - $120,000 a year

  • A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$91,000
  • CAD$120,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as jobrelated skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.


Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
