Overview:


  • The HR Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the HR department to ensure the efficient functioning of the business. This includes recruitment, employee retention, employee relations, payroll and benefits administration, and training and development programs. The HR Manager needs to have strong communication skills and the ability to manage challenging conversations. They must stay uptodate with Canadian employment regulations & laws.

Responsibilities:


  • This position is responsible for the full employment life cycle, ensuring that the quality of the company's entire workforce remains high. This includes sourcing, interviewing, coordinating with hiring managers, and selecting employees at all level positions as per established guidelines. Attention to detail and accuracy in this role is highly valued.
This position requires significant involvement in employee relations matters, including internal investigations, issues related to performance and corrective action. Additionally, the individual is responsible for preparing and updating policies and procedures as approved by Regional HR Management.
Leads and manages direct HR support staff to ensure effective operation. Offers guidance to employees and recommends professional development opportunities for skill enhancement and increased efficiency.

Continues to stay up-to-date on industry trends by connecting with employer groups, utilizing online resources, reading literature, attending local professional society events, and completing additional training.

As an active member of the site safety committee, works closely with management, loss-control professionals, and employees to reduce risk and promote a safe work environment.

Maintains professional relationships with local emergency agencies in order to develop and test site emergency evacuation programs.
Manages local payroll processes plus auditing and is responsible for the overall accuracy of payroll.
Is responsible for ensuring the company complies with regulations, laws and guidelines set by federal, provincial and state governments. This includes regulations such as the Ministry of Labour (MOL), Environment Services Act (ESA), Energy Efficiency Act (EEA), Health Resources Act (HRA) and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).This role is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the site's compensation packages in order to stay competitive with other similar businesses in the local market, as well as ensure internal fairness.-
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. If available, having completed CPHR coursework or receiving certifications is beneficial for this role.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Human Resources professional with extensive proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
