Position Summary
:
Walmart Fulfillment Service is a new business launched as a part of Walmart Canada's fast-paced, tech enabled e-commerce strategy.
Under WFS we offer sellers a multitude of services that help them rapidly scale their business with ease and efficiency of Walmart's technology and supply chain infrastructure.
Over the last year, WFS has scaled rapidly and has become one of the driving forces for growth in Walmart's marketplace platform.
The WFS planning team intends to achieve this by analyzing and forecasting customer demand for marketplace products.
The main objective of this role is to ensure that third-party sellers place the right inventory at the right time to meet customer needs while minimizing excess inventory.
In addition, the role will focus on collaborating with supply chain teams to ensure inventory is replenished to the correct FCs and that there is enough FC space and labor to exceed WFS SLAs.
Additionally, being a marketplace, a good understanding of variability in the items as well as impact of dimensions is key for success in this role.
What you'll do
:
Use data-based analysis to develop monthly, mid-range and long-range demand plans for WFS sellers
Develop bottom-up demand forecasts to better inform financial forecasts and long-range plans by understanding customer demand by location, lead times from various nodes and optimal network
Collaborate with supply chain team to plan for short term and long-term space. Factoring in 'flow' within the building i.e. making sure BOTH inbound and outbound is predictable and accurate.
Analyze and develop replenishment location recommendations based on demand and supply plans. Collaborate with data analytics to help create intelligent forecasting tools to better plan as the WFS business scales.
Leverage intelligence from the US teams to understand how to do better forecast especially around peak demand periods.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint & SQL is a must. Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI,
- Looker, Qlik, R or Python programming would be good to have.
- 35 years of experience in planning and forecasting in CPG, retail, 3PLs or marketplace environments.
- University degree specializing in supply chain management, industrial engineering or operations management is preferred.
- Comfort working with Microsoft Excel, SQL, PowerPoint, R and Python
- Experience in a startup or smaller enterprise is preferred but not a mandate
