Our work involves diverse industries including oil & gas, water filtration, food & beverage, instrumentation, pharmaceutical. The PVENG team provides analysis, design and registration assistance using code calculations. We go above and beyond to create solutions for our clients.

    Job Purpose

    Assist in providing estimated PVENG and CRN fees (where needed) as well as a timeline for client provided documentation. In many cases you will be the initial client contact for PVENG so providing professional and timely replies and information is important.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Assist in preparing cost estimates for new business and engineering change requests from customers, developing and then communicating updated costs and lead times
    • Coordinate with P.Eng if aspects of design cannot be analyzed using standard calculations and/or if FEA is specifically called for in request
    • Review past projects from customer or completed similar designs to determine quoted amount and if time quoted was sufficient
    • Build relationships and liaise with clients
    • Complete related tasks under the guidance of the Senior Estimator and Engineering Manager
    • Other duties as assigned

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Excellent English language communication skills (written and oral)
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills
    • The ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
    • Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple enquiries and conversations simultaneously
    • Desire to work in a fast paced environment

    Qualifications, Skills, Experience

    • Post-Secondary education in Engineering Technology or Cost Estimation, or equivalent combination of education/training and experience
    • Experience working in an manufacturing or engineering environment
    • Must have exposure using CAD- preferably Solidworks
    • Must have experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Knowledge of ASME Codes is an assetAbility to make sound engineering decisions based on available information.
