ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Program Manager is a member of HSO's Global Programs team. Global Programs, the content development business unit of the Enterprise, creates HSO standards, assessment programs and quality improvement solutions. HSO standards are evidence-based criteria and guidelines promoting quality and safety in health and social services. These standards serve as the basis for cutting-edge accreditation programs and robust public policies_._


This Program Manager role is an opportunity to tap into your knowledge and experience to lead the design, co-production, and release of people-centred, evidence-based, high-quality standards and learning resources.

You will work alongside team members in other enterprise business units, within the Global Programs team, Subject Matter Experts, organizational partners, and Technical Committees or Working Groups comprised of people with lived experience, policy-makers, clinicians, and researchers.

Main Responsibilities:


  • Leading the design, coproduction, and release of peoplecentred, evidencebased, highquality standards and accompanying resources with a collaborative team and in compliance with Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) requirements.
  • Ensuring project plan(s) with defined project deliverables are properly scoped, documented and resourced with high quality from the start. This includes developing and tracking progress and risks against a welldefined project workplan and dashboard hence following a project management approach/principle.
  • Providing critical thinking and content development support and leadership, either through direct content development and/or in partnership with Subject Matter Expert and team members, to ensure content aligns with HSO approaches and glossary and when applicable, Standard Operating Procedures for developing standards and accompanying resources.
  • Facilitating decision making process including providing advice and guidance to team members and key stakeholders when decisions or options are required.
  • Researching, preparing, and presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Communicating with project team(s) and key stakeholders regularly to provide updates on project progress to advance your project(s) operationally and strategically.
  • Ensuring that the story and learnings about the journey of your project(s) are well documented with key lessons learned communicated/shared with the broader team as they arise and upon completion of the project.
  • Contributing positively to our workplace culture by staying positive, engaged in the work you do and energized by the difference you're making.

Must Have Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in a related field, such as Healthcare and/or Business Administration
  • Demonstrated experience working with healthcare professionals /or in a healthcare of social services settings.
  • Knowledge of health quality improvement and patient safety.
  • 5+ years of experience producing content products such as standards, evidence synthesis, clinical reviews, systematic reviews, and rapid reviews.
  • Experience conducting scoping or literature reviews, and/or environmental scans.
  • Tried and tested analytical and criticalthinking skills.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop teams.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills including energy and a positive attitude. This is key. You'll be interacting daily with other team members and external partners.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable and efficient with technology and working in a hybrid environment. (i.e., Smartsheet, SharePoint)
