We are seeking dedicated and experienced individuals to join our team at Johnnie Fox's Irish Pub in Vancouver. This unique role combines the responsibilities of a Closer/Shift Leader and a Bartender. As the Closer/Shift Leader, you will oversee closing shifts, manage the team, and ensure smooth operations. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages while providing exceptional customer service. This dynamic position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, mixology expertise, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Closing Shift Management:

Oversee closing procedures, ensuring efficient completion of tasks.
Coordinate with bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff for seamless shift transitions.
Manage inventory, restock supplies, and maintain stock levels.
Secure the premises, ensuring all doors, windows, and equipment are properly locked and turned off.

Team Leadership:

Provide guidance and direction to staff during closing shifts.
Assign tasks, responsibilities, and sections to team members for optimal efficiency.
Train and mentor new employees on closing procedures, bar policies, and mixology techniques.
Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and cooperation.

Bartending and Beverage Service:

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages based on recipes and customer preferences.
Engage with customers, take drink orders, and provide recommendations.
Ensure prompt, accurate service during busy periods while maintaining a high level of efficiency.
Adhere to proper pouring techniques, measurements, and garnish presentation.

Customer Interaction:

Create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, providing exceptional customer service.
Interact with customers professionally, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints.
Build rapport with customers, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable bar experience.
Uphold responsible alcohol service practices and intervene when necessary.

Cash Handling and Reporting:

Manage cash registers, handle transactions accurately, and reconcile cash at the end of the shift.
Prepare financial reports, including sales summaries and cash reconciliation statements.
Follow cash handling procedures to maintain a secure cash handling environment.

Compliance and Safety:

Uphold all legal regulations, including liquor licensing laws and health and safety standards.
Conduct regular inspections to identify safety hazards and take corrective actions.
Ensure adherence to responsible alcohol service practices and intervene when necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a bar or restaurant environment.
Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Extensive knowledge of mixology and beverage preparation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Familiarity with cash handling procedures, POS systems, and inventory management.
Understanding of liquor licensing laws, responsible alcohol service practices, and safety regulations.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
