Full Time Addiction Counsellor Details discussed at Interview.
This posting is being created to provide strong support to Oxford House residents in Calgary. The Addiction Counsellor will oversee Two Pre-treatment Recovery Oxford Homes (one for men and one for women). And will work in unison with our current Lead Addiction Counselor.


Reporting to the Housing Manager(Lead Recovery Coach), the Addictions Counselor is responsible for

  • Delivering the Pre-Treatment Addictions Program daily.
- ensuring that Oxford House residents are abiding with the policy and procedures of the organization.
- the overall effectiveness of our Pre-Treatment Program in Calgary.
- informing the addiction community (agencies and individuals) of the availability of residency in an Oxford House in and around Calgary.
- screening and interviewing potential residents.
- referring resident to the appropriate Pre

  • Treatment Oxford House.
  • Development and Implementation of Addiction Treatment Programs with Lead Addiction Counselor and Housing Manager (Lead Recovery Coach/Support Worker).

Requirements:


  • Certified Addiction Counsellor (CACCF)
  • A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of addictions and the skill set to promote Oxford House in the community.
  • A working knowledge and competency with Microsoft Word/Excel. Training for paperless filing and file creation will be provided.
  • Competency in the administration of drug tests and proper handling of samples.
  • Competency in Conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
