Inside the Role
The Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for interacting with key users to support the data insights and the visualization needs within Daimler Truck Financial Services (DTFS).
The Business Intelligence Analyst core responsibility will be to partner with the Data Insights and Analytics (DIAA) on the development of reporting to support business needs.
This position will also serve as a data steward for supported business areas.The position will also be responsible for various ad hoc reports as well as a Report Optimization project including automating various manual reports through Tableau and Cognos.
This position will also work closely with the US DIAA team to work on several dashboards and implement those for Canada.
Data Intelligence and Advanced Analytics team is part of the Finance team where collaborate very closely with other teams within F&C including Pricing, Risk Management and Controlling.

What You Drive at DTFS
- Data Insights Solution Development
- This includes gathering requirements from business users and developing Business Intelligence (Bl) solutions in partnership with the DIAA Team
- This role will use various Business Intelligence and visualization tools, and work with various business areas to create dashboards and reports that provide business insight
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence Analysts to translate business requirements into technical specifications for IT supported system solutions. Monitor cutting edge analytical methods and artificial intelligence trends
- Data stewardship
- Ensure Data Integrity at all time. Partner with the Data Insights and Advanced Analytics (DIAA) team to evolve the reporting environment to meet future business needs
- Work with business Subject Matter Experts to identify and close existing data gaps in the reporting environment. Modify and create data warehouse specifications based on data requests
- Analyze and assess impacts to the data warehouse and Bl landscape for key project initiatives. Identity opportunities for integration of technology advances in financial analytics
- Project management
- Support Business Intelligence owned projects. Participate in DTFS initiatives and projects to assess impact to Bl domain. Identify potential issues and develop solutions as needed to ensure continuity of Business Intelligence (Bl) Solutions
- Specialized reporting
- Maintain reports and data extracts owned by the DataInsights and Advanced Analytics group. Support intuitive analytics, info design, selfservice tools and systems for solving complex business problems
- Ad Hoc Bl Support
- Partner with the Business Intelligence Analysts to provide ad hoc reporting and analysis to supported business areas as needed using various Bl tools (which includes Cognos Analytics, Access, SQL, Tableau and Excel) with a focus on nonrepetitive analyses
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 + years of applicable work experience
- 2 + Experience with SQL
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics OR 6 years of experience in lieu of degree
- Experience with the following BI tools/Software: IBM Cognos Framework, Tableau, Rapid SQL or other SQL client tools
