Building a community of hope since 1987, we would like to invite you to join our journey. Siloam Mission is currently seeking a permanent full-time Data Entry Clerk.


As a Data Entry Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently entering financial and donor care data into our systems.


POSITION DUTIES
Efficiently inputting financial, donor and other information into databases, spreadsheets or other software systems;
Ensure information gathered on donor profiles are accurately entered and maintained in our database platform (DonorPerfect);
Recording transactions, donations and other financial data;
Updating donor contact information, communication preferences and giving history;
Generating reports and verifying data;
Communicating with donors or internal departments regarding any discrepancies or issues for resolution;
Ensure all data entered is accurate and up-to-date;
Verify data for accuracy and completeness;
Complete any ad-hoc data projects as assigned;
Maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and donor information;
Handle, batch and process monetary and non-monetary donations;
Build and maintain relationships with donors, by making thank-you calls;
Respond to incoming donor requests and address donor concerns or complaints;
Write hand written cards and notes to donors;
Reception coverage as required - may involve lifting approximately 40lbs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma
Previous data entry experience is preferred

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/BEHAVIOURS

Strong attention to detail with ability to maintain accuracy while working efficiently;
Be familiar with financial and/or donation tracking software;
Strong organization skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Able to work independently with mínimal supervision;
Strong computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate documentation and timely reporting;
Experience handling confidential and sensitive information


RELATIONSHIPS
You will work closely with the Finance and Donor Care Departments


WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is primarily in an office setting - long hours sitting at a desk in front of a computer and using the telephone;
Reception duties may involve heavy lifting - up to 50 lbs - when receiving donations


Hours of work:

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm *Possible exceptions during peak seasons*Clear Vulnerable Sector Check and Clear Adult Abuse Registry Check will be required.
