Your Opportunity
Dillon's

Planning and Design technical group is looking for an experienced

Project Manager, Environmental Manager, Environmental Director, Environmental Team Lead,

Knowledge of federal EA legislation (e.g., Impact Assessment Act, Canada Energy Regulator Act, etc.) and ability to work with Indigenous communities would be an asset.


EA Lead in any of our

Ontario offices. You will be a member of Dillon's national

Environmental Planning group and will work closely with our in-house teams of engagement specialists, biologists, environmental scientists, land use and policy planners, and the full range of engineering disciplines located in offices across Canada. You will be a key part of our multidisciplinary group serving our diverse range of public and private sector clients.

Responsibilities:


What your day will look like

As a key team member, you will have the opportunity to:

Project Delivery (50%)

  • Manage/Lead projects for public and private sector clients related to EA, environmental permitting and approvals, and environmental compliance monitoring, with a focus on linear infrastructure EAs (Individual/Comprehensive EAs, Municipal Class EA, MTO, Hydro One, Metrolinx/TPAP)
  • Manage/Lead federal EAs and work with Indigenous communities. Work with multidisciplinary teams on exciting and challenging projects, with a focus on removing barriers and improving access on roads, highways, transit, and active transportation facilities
  • Develop and lead key innovative EA consultation processes
  • Play a key role in the growth and development of the team by empowering, inspiring and energizing the team through project experience

Business Development (47%)

  • Build client relationships through identification of market opportunities, client communications, preparation of proposals, and business development activities
  • Ability to review and respond to RFPs and prepare project proposals
  • Contribute to Dillon's corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees

Learning & Development (3%)

  • Commit to selfdevelopment and ongoing learning and professional development
  • Contribute to the career development of less tenured staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoring
  • Be coached and mentored by some of Canada's most wellrespected leaders in Individual/Comprehensive EAs, MTO Class EAs, and Municipal Class EAs

Qualifications:

What you will need to succeed

  • A university degree or postundergraduate college diploma in planning, environmental studies, biology or a related field
  • 10+ years' EA experience, preferably in the consulting industry, with an emphasis on linear infrastructure (pipelines, electric transmission lines, roads, highways, transit)
  • Strong communication, report writing, organization, interpersonal skills
  • Valid Class G Driver's License

Experience:


Ideally, your experience can demonstrate the following:

  • Successful project delivery as a Project Manager or Environmental Lead for Individual/Comprehensive EAs, Class EAs (Municipal Class EA, MTO, TPAP, etc.) and/or federal EAs
  • Indepth knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines, and regulatory permitting and approval requirements
  • Experience in the design and delivery of stakeholder and Indigenous Community engagement programs, including the use of innovative virtual engagement tools
  • Experience in business development activities including client development and responding to RFPs
  • Environmental management during construction, including developing environmental management plans, onsite monitoring and documentation is considered an asset
