About the role


Canadian Blood Services is looking for a
Regular Full-Time Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Specialist to join our dynamic Enterprise Risk Management team.

The work of an ERM Specialist is integral to Canadian Blood Services' role as Canada's Biological Lifeline.

Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Risk Management, the ERM Specialist will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of Canadian Blood Services' ERM program.

You will liaise with, and coordinate the activities of, internal and external stakeholders to ensure the availability, integration and currency of risk profiles and business continuity plans.


Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your knowledge of risk management processes, support the maturation of the organization's Enterprise Risk Management program through the implementation and/or enhancement of risk management frameworks, policies, methodologies, processes guidelines and tools
  • Drawing on your planning skills and experience, support the development of a multiyear work plan for maturing ERM program to continuously improve understanding, identification and appropriate mitigation of risk throughout the organization.
  • Utilizing your organizational skills, coordinate ongoing activities of the ERM Program (e.g., regular updates of the Corporate Risk Profile, quarterly enterprise risk reporting, support risk owners and contributors in their respective reassessment and analysis of risks (i.e. corporate, operational etc.),, as well as the distribution of risk reports / information to EMT, Board of Directors, senior leadership and client stakeholders.)
  • Harnessing your collaboration skills, provide support in riskbased decisionmaking assessments and/or other riskinformed assessments with senior leaders and their teams to advance their respective strategic, operational, project and other activities as required.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement, support the further adoption and evolution of the Alliance of Blood Operators' Risk-Based Decision-Making Framework for Blood Safety and other riskinformed processes to support decisionmaking in the current CBS context.
  • Recognizing the importance of workplace safety, perform work in compliance with CBS Corporate Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Travel requirements occasional travel will be required to attend quarterly meetings and support project commitments.
