SUMMARY
Reporting to the Operations Manager, works with the Arkal management team to coordinate and supervise daily production floor activities, including set up, processing material handling, and housekeeping activities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to work all 3 shifts as scheduled (Days, Afternoons, Midnights), but generally assigned to a straight shift with the ability to cover alternate shifts as necessary to achieve goals
Exercise due diligence, taking all reasonable care in the workplace to protect the health and safety of workers, and to prevent an occurrence or event
Supervise and monitor the quality system during manufacturing operations
Checks operator inspection and production check sheets
Maintains schedule board and coordination during mold changes
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws
Provides input to Operations Manager for appraising employee performance
Provides first line answers to employee concerns and resolves problems
Provides first line corrective action as required
Maintains and ensures shipments are met
Schedules employees according to daily productions requirements
Provides Operations Manager with verbal and written details of employee's safety, quality, attendance, and productivity issues which arise during the shift
Provides work instruction and safety training for employees to acquaint workers with the company policies and procedures
Responsible for employee reinstruction of work instruction when required
Provide leadership for Continuous Improvement, 5S, and scrap reduction
Ensures housekeeping responsibilities are performed each day
Ensures all employees wear proper PPE, use any equipment or protective safety devices as required
Ensure workers are made aware of any health and safety hazards that the supervisor is aware of
Submits a detailed Shift Report at the end of each shift to those required
Any other activities/job duties as directed
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
College diploma or equivalent work experience
3 years supervisory experience
Experience in automotive industry and plastic injection molding would be an asset
Knowledge and understanding of the _Occupational Health and Safety Act_ and applicable regulations
Knowledge and understanding of TS 16949 requirements
COMPUTER SKILLS
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Power Point, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet software
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Strong attention to detail, leadership abilities, excellent communication skills
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees
Proficient in written and verbal English skills with ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and meeting schedules
