The Leasing Manager works with the on-site Resident Managers and is responsible for showing and leasing apartment suites to prospective residents.

The Leasing Manager qualifies prospective residents, completes lease agreements, collects rental deposits and provides a superior level of customer service to prospective and existing residents.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Leasing_
  • Encourage appointments or viewings with all prospective resident callers or walkins
  • Tour prospective residents through suites for lease
  • Answer phone calls and give out leasing information as dictated by policy/procedure
  • Shop competition through phone calls and site market surveys
  • Assist with the composition of newspaper advertisements
  • Compile and update listings of available rental units
  • Renting & Administration_
  • Contact credit bureau, previous landlords, and check employment history to assess credit worthiness of prospects
  • Follow up with new residents to ensure satisfaction with their suite and determine if they have further needs
  • Follow up with existing residents to ensure work orders have been completed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Utilize computerized property management system to record transactions and run various operating reports
  • Marketing & Business Development_
  • Maintain an overall focus on enhancing the customer experience
  • Hold open houses
  • Create and prepare any newsletters, flyers and written summaries of available suites
  • Communicate with prospective residents requiring information
  • Help coordinate resident events (socials etc.)
  • Assist Regional Coordinator of Marketing & Development where required
  • Management & Training Responsibilities_
  • Complete thorough orientation and training of new and existing staff (refer to schedule of training responsibilities)
  • Foster an environment to encourage continuous staff development and a strong customer service attitude
  • Establish and monitor work schedules of staff in accordance with corporate guidelines and to meet high turnover periods
  • Manage staff including resolving conflicts and handling disciplinary action
  • Thorough understanding of annual budgets and operating and capital plans

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:


  • 2 Years of management experience
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal skill
  • Experience in sales
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Maintain a professional and presentable appearance at all times
  • Strong command of MS Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Self starter with high degree of initiative, creativity and flexibility
  • Experience with leasing apartments or selling condominiums an asset
