    Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position is responsible for performing quality checks on the production floor during daily operations. This position focuses on calibrations, testing and tracking of critical control points and sensory testing in the brewery. Additionally, the position assists the quality manager on projects, audits and process implementation and adherence. The job is focused on the production area of the brewery but can extend to deliveries, and warehousing to ensure packaged products are being handled, stored and rotated properly.

    As Quality Technician, You Will

    Perform Quality Control Checks on the production floor:

    • Cell counts, and cell viability
    • Microbiological sampling, plating and classical plate counts
    • Daily testing of beer throughout the production process, from fermentation, conditioning, filtering and packaging
    • Ensuring product meets all quality specifications before being packaged
    • Daily testing of product during packaging runs
    • Total package oxygen analysis of production runs
    • Can seam checks at the start of each production run
    • Maintaining and organization of product samples and the product library
    • Clear and concise communication with brewers and packaging staff
    • Troubleshoot processes with Quality Manager, brewer's and packaging staff to identify quality deficiencies and corrective action
    • Setting up and administering sensory panels
    • Maintaining, cleaning and organizing the lab area
    • Maintaining, cleaning and calibrating quality control equipment

    Assist the Quality Manger with Projects that can include the following:

    • Data entry, organization and analysis
    • Assist in compiling QC reports and attending weekly meetings
    • Lab based product development
    • Implementing and documenting internal audit
