***: Reporting to the Environmental Supervisor, the Class 1 Wastewater Operator and Maintenance role will lead and support Wastewater and Scrubber operations and maintenance, including decanting system, while following all site Health, Safety & Environmental policies and initiatives.

POSITION TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Operate, maintain, repair EQ/DAF wastewater treatment system, including chemical dosing system, to minimize effluent turbidities
  • Operate, maintain, repair used cooking oil (UCO) steam decant vessels and centrifuge
  • Provide vacation/sick time coverage (12hr shifts) for Wastewater Operators (day, night, weekends)
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM's) of facility Scrubbers and Venturis using Environmental Maintenance Checklist
  • Perform weekly scrubber air testing and calibrations during the summer months and occasional checks during the winter months.
  • Forklift training and experience is an asset.
  • Work closely and maintain good working relationship with the maintenance and engineering team with regards to PM's and repairs.
  • Assist with the development and monitoring of environmental equipment PM program using Maintenance Connect
  • Support environmental health and safety initiatives through hazard reporting
  • Assist in preventative maintenance of wastewater and decanting equipment, including various circulating pumps and chemical dosing pumps.
  • Weekly inventory counts
  • Scrubber operations data entry
  • Monitor scrubber packing Assist the Environmental Supervisor in scheduling packing changes for packed bed scrubbers. Lead and help execute packing change out.
  • Assist Shift Supervisors/ production staff in plant troubleshooting as
  • Assist in plant 5S
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of wastewater, scrubber, venturi, decanting operation SOP's.
