    Reporting to Portfolio Manager, Systematic Investing, we seek a versatile Software Engineer with expertise in building event-driven trading systems and a solid grounding in capital markets.

    The ideal candidate will not only be proficient in asynchronous programming, real-time data management, and distributed systems, particularly with Apache Kafka but will also have a deep understanding of financial instruments, including options, derivatives, and the mechanics of capital markets.

    This dual expertise is essential for the development, optimization, and execution of our sophisticated trading infrastructure.
    Design and implement advanced event-driven trading systems using Python, ensuring top-tier standards of reliability, scalability, and performance.
    Integrate and oversee real-time market data feeds, ensuring the precision and timeliness of data processing for trading analytics.
    Leverage Apache Kafka to create robust data pipelines and messaging systems, crucial for our trading architecture's efficiency.
    Work in tandem with the Quant team to transform complex trading strategies into high-performing, automated systems.
    Refine existing trading infrastructure to enhance performance and reliability, leveraging advanced asynchronous programming techniques.
    Participate in the creation of backtesting frameworks and tools to rigorously test trading strategies.
    Maintain currency with the latest FinTech and trading technology trends, advocating for and implementing enhancements to our systems.

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with a strong emphasis on financial markets.

    Substantial experience in Python development, with expertise in asynchronous programming and the design of event-driven systems.
    Demonstrated proficiency with Apache Kafka for constructing distributed systems and managing real-time data flows.
    A robust understanding of capital markets, financial instruments (especially options), and quantitative trading strategies is critical.
    Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to tackle complex problems and innovate in a fast-paced trading environment.
    Excellent communication skills, conducive to effective teamwork and clear articulation of technical and financial concepts.
    Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred), DevOps tools, and modern software development practices are advantageous.
