We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team in Vancouver, BC.


Position Overview:


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for oil and gas projects.

Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to secure the best possible terms and conditions, including pricing, quality, delivery, and service levels. A thorough review of the quotation against the materials specification required to ensure that the materials procured are in line with the specifications.

Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to establish favorable agreements and contracts that align with project requirements and company objectives.

Supply Chain Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize the supply chain to enhance efficiency, minimize risks, and mitigate disruptions.

Budget Management: Collaborate with project teams to develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets and cost control measures.

Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies, while also proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.

Vendor Performance Evaluation: Establish performance metrics and conduct regular evaluations of vendors to monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous enhancement of supplier relationships.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and finance professionals, to align procurement activities with project timelines and objectives.

Logistics and shipments: Coordinate with shipping lines and other parties involved in shipping the materials from the factory to the site. Also, take charge of all documents required for clearing the shipment at destination and the documents required as per project contracts / specifications.

Payments / follow up: coordinate with finance team for payments and other related works to ensure that the materials required for the project are procured on time.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 35 years of proven experience in procurement within the oil and gas industry, preferably with overseas experience.
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas procurement processes, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favorable outcomes.
  • Proficiency in contract management, supplier relationship management, and supply chain optimization.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards in the oil and gas sector.
  • Exceptional analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.
  • Detailoriented with a commitment to delivering highquality results within established deadlines.
