Job Summary:


The Assistant, Research Grants & Contracts works with and receives direction from the Officer, Research Grants & Contracts on grant awards and contracted research projects.

This position creates and processes post-award documentation for research grants, reviews and processes budget related information and maintains and creates contracts for sub-grant related work.


The Assistant helps and prepares the distribution of confidential documents and materials, including contracts, expense claims, timesheets, salary, legal and other personal matters.

Qualifications:

Completion of a certificate in Office Administration from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Two (2) years' experience in office administration, preferably in a post-secondary environment.

Strong written, interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to manage tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Proven ability to communicate effectively and to provide service to employees in a professional, respectful, positive, and courteous manner.

Proven organizational skills and an ability to work independently with frequent interruptions.

Knowledge of UFV faculties, departments, and internal procedures, protocols and policies preferred.

Ability to attend and support events outside of regular business hours as required.
