The Ganawa Company and one of its divisions, Clearwater Municipal Services are looking for a
Mechatronic Technician/EIT, to oversee our wide variety of robotics across two of our divisions.
Clearwater Municipal Services has a number of robotics used in inspecting and rehabilitating sewer and water main infrastructure in several provinces across the country.
The Role:
- Design, program, and maintain a variety of robotics such as CCTV Inspection/Cutting Crawlers (e.g. Aries, Envirosight, Schwalm, Proteus, robotic welding arm and slide)
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues (hardware, software, mechanical, etc.)
- Interpretation and analysis of technical data and technical report writing/submittals
- Perform and/or schedule preventive maintenance with suppliers and or internal maintenance team
- Ensure that all equipment is tested, maintained, and operating as per the manufacturer's specifications and at peak performance
- Recommend and implement solutions for quality issues
- Review and recommendation of new components or equipment as required
- Assist in training operators, ensuring proper SOP and machine safety are followed
- Generate and maintain all system documentation including but not limited to; SOP's repair logs, and audits as required
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience You Should Have:
- Post-secondary education in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics and Automation, Electromechanical or a combination of relevant education and work experience
- 3+ years of handson experience with robotics and automation
- Professional Certification in Robotics Programming
- Proven experience with CAD/CAM software
- Have strong coding experience using Raspberry Pi, and familiarity with Python and MATLAB
- Teach pendant (TP) programming is a huge asset
- Any knowledge of Lidar and Sonar sensors are a strong asset
- Strong ability to work independently and still collaborate effectively with a team
- Excellent ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Strong ability to build solid working relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Solid ability to explain complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including nontechnical.
- Commitment to health and safety
- Strong analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills.
- Proven time management and multitasking skills
- Must have a valid G license
