Job Summary:


Reporting to the Supply Chain and Facilities Manager, the building and maintenance clerk helps maintain BellatRx's facilities and equipment in good working order.

Their tasks include, but are not limited to, maintaining, and repairing BellatRx's facilities (changing light bulbs and fixtures etc.) repairing or installing office furniture and appliances, and keeping BellatRx's facilities clean by clearing or cleaning all types of debris, spills, or damage.


General Responsibilities:


  • Maintain and repair facilities by, among other tasks, painting, plastering, doing light carpentry work, and doing basic plumbing and locksmithing (major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers).
  • Install, repair and service all sort of appliances, furniture, and fixtures. Appliances can include, but are not limited to televisions, coffee machines, fans and heaters.
  • Help maintain facilities clean and uncluttered by moving items as required, and clearing or cleaning all types of debris, spills, or damage.
  • Periodically mop or sweep heavy traffic areas, including the operation of the company's Zamboni.
  • Maintain the Zamboni in good working condition through regular cleaning, replacing water, and making sure the battery is recharged etc.
  • Perform regular inspections of facilities to, among other, make sure all light bulbs are operational, bathrooms are stocked, and the carpets and shoe racks are clean and in their proper place.
  • Check and manage inventory of cleaning materials and other supplies, and restock, when necessary, by going to supplier locations or ordering items.
  • Contact container companies for emptying containers as required.
  • When required, perform light custodial duties such as emptying garbage cans, cleaning tables, cleaning windows
  • Perform outdoor maintenance work such as keeping fire exits accessible (inside and out), and shoveling and salting entries and shipping bays, etc.

Required KSA's

Knowledge:

Building maintenance: Must possess relevant knowledge of commercial building maintenance and repairs, including the use of relevant tools.

Intermediate English and French Language:Intermediate knowledge of the structure and content of the English and French language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.


Skills:

Building Maintenance and Repair: Performing routine maintenance and repairs on building structures and electrical appliances, along with knowledge of the necessary equipment and tools to determine the type of maintenance that is needed and perform the work.

Repairing: Repairing basic building structures using the needed tools.

Troubleshooting: Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

Finger Dexterity: The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.

Physical Strength and endurance: The ability to lift heavy objects, and to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, and hold arms over head for extended periods of time.


Minimum requirements:


  • 3 years minimum of proven working experience.
  • High School Diploma, Technical degree in building maintenance an asset.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as part of a selfdirected team.
  • Possess strong communication and problem solving skills;
  • Be able to comfortably lift up to 20 kilograms / 45 pounds;
  • Be physically fit with no auditory or back issues;
  • Be able to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during long shifts.
