The Associate Brand Manager - Core Wines and Refreshments is dedicated to supporting marketing fundamentals, supporting brand creation, media budget management, and executing strategic marketing programs.

They will work with the Core Wines team while supporting APL's Refreshment portfolio. There is a focus on defined brand positioning, this role tracks initiatives, assesses ROI, and ensures accurate budget management. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is paramount for project success and adapting to strategic changes. The position involves continuous market, category, and brand analysis to inform future strategies.

The Associate Brand Manager takes ownership of project budgets, leads innovation efforts, and supports the execution of commercial plans for new and existing products.


This role will work from home and once a week you will be responsible for visiting and working with teams in office located at our Oakville and Grimsby offices.

Teammate will be responsible for

  • Focused on learning and acquiring marketing fundamentals including creation of advertising for in and out of store, media plan creation (understanding, budgeting, planning and analysis), developing and executing strategic consumer promotions, execution and analysis, equity building primary and secondary packaging development, market research
  • Executing within defined brand positioning to short and longterm marketing plans
  • Responsible for creating and executing of the consumer initiatives/ tactics in the marketing plan, tracking business impact, assessing ROI, and ensuring budgets are being managed accurately.
  • Collaborates with the cross functional team and works on bringing the team along with projects, changes in strategy.
  • Analysis ongoing market, category, and brand analysis to inform strategies and plans
  • Owns the budget for set projects and brands and follows budget stewardship and tracking.


  • Innovation

  • Responsible for leading the cross functional team to deliver innovation including line extensions and projects.
  • Support execution of commercial plans for new and existing products.
  • Accountable and responsible for planning, tracking and actualization for fiscal budgets for their team within guidelines set by senior Management including Packaging, Market Data, Market Research, Consumer Promotion & Advertising.

  • Experience and understanding across a breadth of core marketing fundamentals
  • Superior financial acumen and business owner mindset
  • A track record of taking business projects from concept to completion
  • Strong proven analytical skills and ability to turn complex data into hypothesis and make simple and clear recommendation
  • Working effectively with internal and external partners
  • Can work under tight timelines and manages own as well as direct reports and multifunctional team priorities
  • Influences across functions and all levels of Management through knowledge, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage a broad range of projects from long term planning to short term crisis.
  • Must constantly have a proactive, take charge, actionoriented approach to spearhead development and implementation of multidimensional business projects.
