A First Cook with Hilton Hotels and Resorts participates in the preparation, production and service of food to the highest level, for all hotel Outlets and Banquets.


What will I be doing?
Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Participate and lead in food production for all Outlets and with a focus on Banquet production as directed by the Station Chef or Kitchen Management.
  • Ability to read Banquet Event Orders, build prep sheets, conduct tasks to execute multiple Banquet event orders, inclusive of soups, sauces, proteins and supporting vegetable and starch accompaniments.
  • Read, interpret and follow all standard recipes.
  • Ability to plan, organize and execute Food for Banquet events while communicating effectively regarding required products and any concerns to Chef or sous chefs.
  • Ensure timing for events are met and executed as per BEO requirements.
  • Avoid over production and wastage.
  • Ensure your work station has adequate mis en place prior to, and after service, and that it is correctly dated, labeled and stored.
  • Provide quick, efficient service during meal times, ensuring outstanding food quality and presentation is delivered as outlined by Chef and Sous Chef to the guest at all times.
  • Carry out side duties and cleaning schedules as requested by the kitchen management team.
  • Follow the procedure for submitting food requisitions as required.
  • Follow, observe and maintain safe standards of hygiene in line with Health & Safety Guidelines.
  • Assist the culinary team as required.

It will be advantageous in this position if you demonstrate the following capabilities and advantages:

  • Training in Food handling and Food safety
  • Previous experience in industrial kitchen
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene
  • Completion of a culinary program at a hotel school or college and/or Apprenticeship.
  • At least 3 years of culinary experience
