    Position Overview
  • We are looking for a regular fulltime Corporate Climate and Energy Manager to join the District's Climate and Biodiversity Team. Reporting to the Director
  • Climate Action, Natural Systems, and Biodiversity, you will lead the District's corporate energy and emissions management program, accelerating the District's transition to low carbon, climate resilient operations. You will recommend strategies and policies and identify projects for reducing emissions and increasing climate resilience in District operations. You will ensure integration of low carbon design and mechanical equipment in new buildings and major upgrades and advance decarbonization strategies for existing assets.

The Corporate Climate and Energy Manager works closely with key internal business units to develop policies, support operational changes, and identify and advance fuel switching projects.

You will research, secure and manage senior government and utility funding, select and supervise consultants, and monitor, measure and report out on outcomes.

This position is responsible for developing and managing the implementation of the District's Strategic Energy Management Plan and provides strategic and technical advice to senior staff and Council.

Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.

You will have a demonstrated ability to lead the development and implementation of policies and projects working with business units to understand and resolve competing objectives.

Demonstrated leadership experience is a strong asset in this role.

Strong technical knowledge of low carbon building design and mechanical systems is required along with superb oral and written communication skills.

The pay range for this exempt position is $116,842.20 to $129,497.

97 per annum (2024 rates)
Hours of Work: 35-hour work week (Compressed work schedule available)
