REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory or administrative experience in home care.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills with the ability to deal with pressure.
  • Experience in scheduling and directing caregiving staff.
  • Good communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate in clear, concise language with both clients and agency staff.
  • Knowledgeable in regulations and laws related to home care in Ontario.
  • Prior work experience as a nurse, PSW or a caregiver a plus.
  • Must pass all background screening checks.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Facing Responsibilities:


  • Taking customer intake calls and arranging client assessments.
  • Coordinating client care services by matching clients to appropriate caregivers,and scheduling care delivery.
  • Managing client, caregiver, and outside care collaborator relations.
  • Assisting clients in areas of need, monitoring, assessing and recording clients progress related to their care plans, and making needed adjustments to plans and services if needed.
  • Overseeing care quality assurance and care supervision.
  • Facilitating clients access to community resources, including locating recreational activities & services; assisting clients to contact social support networks.
  • Addressing clients concerns and complaints.
  • Overseeing clients billing and collections along with any third party (government or private) reimbursement
  • Implementing and maintaining documentation necessary and required for clients in service programs.

Caregiver Facing Responsibilities:


  • Hiring, developing, supervising, and evaluating qualified caregivers.
  • Overseeing the orientation of new staff prior to client contact and ensuring ongoing training.
  • Managing background and reference checks for potential caregiver hires.
  • Overseeing staff training and assuring compliance with policies and procedures related to client employee and franchise confidentiality, administrative rules and other regulatory requirements.
  • Staff planning, ensuring caregiver availability to match demand, and making good client/caregiver matches based on caregivers skills, personalities, and interests.
  • Overseeing caregivers shifts, ensuring caregivers are at client premise on time.
  • Responding to caregivers concerns, issues, complaints and emergencies.

Office Operations Related Responsibilities:


  • On call at least 3 days a week including evenings and alternate weekends.
  • Ordering supplies, typing letters, preparing postcards/packages, and completing mailings.
  • Responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Performing miscellaneous jobrelated duties as assigned.
