The Toronto District School Board's Non-Credit Adult ESL and LINC Programs are looking for qualified, experienced Supply instructors to teach at locations throughout the city.

Opportunities include full and part-time days, part-time evenings and Saturdays. We offer highly competitive rates ($45.50 per hour). Take advantage of this unique opportunity to become part of one of the largest providers of ESL/LINC classes in Canada


Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Adult ESL/LINC Program Officer, the supply instructor will be responsible for providing goal-directed, outcome-based and learner centered English language instruction, aligned with the Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA) approach.

• Instruct class according to a daily lesson plan using appropriate and relevant resources and methods of delivery, in accordance with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) and principles of adult learning
• Report on attendance as required
• Provide a safe, nurturing biasfree, positive and respectful learning environment that recognizes individual differences
• Must have TESL Ontario certification
• Postsecondary degree from an accredited institution with one year related experience teaching ESL or equivalent
• Thorough understanding of the Canadian Language Benchmarks
• Knowledge of PBLA is an asset
• Computer skills and familiarity with related program software (e.g. MS Office, Zoom, Tutela, Academic Workspace)
• Excellent command of oral and written English
• Strong interpersonal skills

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
