About the Position:


The Project Manager Assistant will work as a member of the Client Services team in key functions including data verification, data uploads and various other client service activities.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Adding/updating login qualifiers and sample integrity observations on work orders;
  • LIMS Account Creation, maintenance and coordination of account assignments
  • Updating and creating account notes;
  • Tracking of lost, missing, archived, or 'on hold' samples;
  • Assisting with invoicing where required (including invoice corrections, monthly invoicing, etc);
  • Prepare/enter client bottle requests for Shipping;
  • Prepare and maintain custom electronic chains of custodies and labels for clients
  • Maintain and update client account information (i.e. contacts, addresses, locations, etc.);
  • Shipping confirmation (i.e. ensure new shipments & return shipments have been sent and/or received);
  • Process requests for information;
  • Coordinate sublet tests, verifying statuses, entering sublet data, attaching sublet data to final report;
  • Data entry for any client provided or field parameters;
  • Preparation and coordination of due lists for Project Managers;
  • Reviewing the status of data (i.e. rush, recheck, missing, held, etc.);
  • Sample Login/Layout/Disposal as required;
  • Assist in Sample Reception and Bottle Prep and Shipping as required;
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Positive and energetic outlook;
  • Demonstrated time management skills;
  • Proven ability to work under pressure;
  • Organized, detailed oriented and able to work independently;
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal);


  • Proficient computer skills

  • Microsoft Word and Excel.
Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Environmental laboratory experience would be an asset;
  • Valid unrestricted license for personal vehicle use applicable in the province/territory;
  • No major driving violations and no more than two minor violations/incidents.
Physical Demands

  • Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;
  • Lift up to 30lbs and carry for short distances;
  • Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities;
  • You may be exposed to unpleasant odours;
  • Please note that ALS operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.
