The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications:


  • Grade 12 graduate or equivalent required
  • Graduate of recognized business school preferred

Skill, Ability and Experience:


  • Accurate computer keyboarding skills required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required
  • Knowledge of terminal digit filing system and computerized patient index preferred
  • Aptitude for detailed work to ensure accuracy in work required
  • Previous experience with filing systems required
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality required
  • Ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks for prolonged periods required
  • Excellent organizational skills preferred
  • Ability to prioritize work and multitask required
  • Ability to meet departmental workload requirements required
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill role within Attendance Support Program parameters required

Principal Duties:


  • Complete receptionist duties
  • Scanning and verification of Emergency / Ambulatory Care/Same Day Surgery/Inpatient records
  • Filing of patient records according to terminal digit filing system
  • Maintenance of filing area including shifting of files on a regular basis
  • Purging of charts
  • Retrieval of patient records as required
  • Performs other clerical duties in the department at the discretion of the Manager or designate
