What you'll be doing:

In this dual role, you will be responsible for both hands-on electrical work as a journeyman electrician and supporting project management activities as a junior project manager.

You will work closely with our Senior Project Manager to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards from the quoting process through to final completion.

Duties and responsibilities:


Electrical:

• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues.
• Lowvoltage, lighting and branch circuitry.
• New services as well as repairs and upgrades.
• Understanding of electrical drawings.
• Compliance with company safety standards to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
• Organize materials and equipment required for projects.

Project Management:

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordination of electrical projects.
• Assist with quoting, material procurement, and project budgeting.
• Track project progress and report updates to the project manager.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and work with multiple deadlines.

Competencies and Personal Attributes:

• Strong communication skills in both written and verbal English.
• Detail oriented.
• Excellent time management and organization skills. Demonstrates a sense of urgency and a strong commitment to achieving goals.

Requirements:

• Red seal certificate; 35 years of troubleshooting experience, and at least 1 year of junior project management experience
• Experience quoting/estimating jobs costs.
• Basic hand tools and a drill are required as well as safety equipment (steeltoes, hard hat).
• Strong interpersonal skills in both verbal and written English.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday); ability to put in overtime hours on occasion (will be compensated accordingly).
• Reliable transportation & valid Driver's Licence.
• Ability to work remotely (reliable Wi-Fi connection and space to do computer work).

Assets:

• Enrolled in or completion of PMP or project management courses.
• Experience with both residential and commercial work is preferred but not required.
• Experience with Lutron systems and low voltage is preferred but not required.

Salary:
$39.00-$46.00 per hour
